KC-402 is a protective bifunctional sulfur recovery catalyst by deoxygenating.This catalyst is used with KC-401 Al2O3 catalyst and the sulfur conversion can be increased by 1-1.7%under same condition.It is especially suitable for the sulfur recovery unit with great change of H2S content or flowrate.

Introduction |
KC-402 catalyst can be used with Al2O3 or Al2Oa-base catalyst by layers,loaded into the packing beds of any level Claus reactor for sulfur recovery unit.It can also be fully packed.When being used by layers,KC-402 catalyst is loaded in the upper bed,accounting for more than 1/3 of the total bed volume.This is for protecting the Al2Os or Al2O3-base catalyst from the damage caused by sulfating due to O2 leakage in the process gas in order to extend catalyst working life. When starting operation,the optimum H2S/SO2 ratio is 2:1 in order to achieve the highest sulfur recovery rate as the key point. During operation,the temperature of any points of the beds cannot be lower than the dew point of sulfur.As a result,the operating temperature for the first reactor has to be over 220C and 210C for second reactor. At the same time,however,the maximum operating temperature is 350C at any part of the bed. |
