TITLE:KC-404 TiO2-base Sulfur Recovery Catalyst
Classic:Sulfur tolerant shift catalyst and protective agent
KC-404 catalyst is a type of TiO2-base sulfur recovery catalyst.Compared with Al2O3-base catalyst,it has a number of advantages.
(1)It is more catalytic active on the organic sulfide hydrolysis reaction and Claus reaction.Under same operating conditions, the overall sulfur conversion can increase 1.5-2.0%,which nearly achieves the thermodynamic equilibrium.
(2)KC-404 catalyst has anti-sulfating effect and it is not sensitive to the poisons from O2leakage.When the O2 leakage approached as high as 10,000ppm during Claus reaction, the catalyst activity can be recovered once the effect of high O2 concentration is removed.
(3)Higher GHSV(1,000-12,000 h)is allowed in order to reduce the reactor volume but maintaining same conversion. It is especially suitable for the unit involving great change of H2S content or flowrate.

Introduction |
KC-404 catalyst can be loaded into all the packing beds of any level Claus reactor for sulfur recovery unit.It also can be used to load with other different function or type of catalyst by layers. When being used by layers. KC-404 catalyst is loaded in the upper bed, accounting for more than 1/3 of the total bed volume. This is for protecting the Al2O3-base catalyst from the damage caused by sulfating due to O2 leakage in the process gas in order to extend catalyst working life. When starting operation, the optimum H2S/SO2 ratio is 2:1 in order to achieve the highest sulfur recovery rate as the key point. During operation, the temperature of any points of the beds cannot be lower than the dew point of sulfur. As a result, the operating temperature for the first reactor has to be over 220C and 210C for second reactor. At the same time, however, the maximum operating temperature is 450C at any part of the bed. |
