KC-103 catalyst is a new generation of cobalt-molybdenum-series CO sulfur tolerant shift catalyst with the carrier of spinel. It applies to the shift processes of producing sulfurous gas with the raw material of heavy oil, residual oil, asphalt, cinder and coal, which is under the conditions of wide temperature range, sulfur range and water-steam range.
This catalyst has a high stability of mechanical strength and activity stability, which has the better integrated performance than the similar catalysts both in China and abroad. The cobalt and molybdenum, as active components, is in the form of oxides in the catalyst. When in use, the first thing to do is vulcanization which means converting oxides to sulfides. It can be obtained by using sulfur-containing process gas or just by vulcanizing agent. KC-103 catalyst does not contain alkali metals so it is not harmful to the equipments and human body. Only a small amount of water will be generated which can be discharged with the process gas when vulcanizing.
